BIOLOGI SEL

Biologi sel adalah cabang ilmu biologi yang mempelajari tentang sel.
Sel merupakan kesatuan struktural dan fungsional makhluk hidup
Teori-teori tentang sel:
  1. Robert Hooke (Inggris, 1665) : meneliti sayatan gabus dengan mikroskop. Ditemukan rongga-rongga disebut sel (cellula)
  2. Antonie Van Leeuwenhoek (1674) : penemu mikroskop sederhana. Dijuluki bapak mikrobiologi dan bapak andrologi. Hasil pengamatan pada tahun 1674 berupa alga, tahun 1683 berupa bacteria pada dental plaque, dan tahun 1698 berupa sel darah + sperma.
Macam-macam sel berdasarkan keadaan inti:
  • Sel prokariotik : inti tidak memiliki membran dan inti tersebar dalam sitoplasma. contoh: bakteri dan alga biru. 
  • Sel eukariotik : inti memiliki membran dan inti dibatasi oleh satu sistem membran terpisah dari protoplasma. Misalnya semua makhluk hidup kecuali bakteri dan alga biru.
